Hamburgers

Matthew 4:4 John 6:35 Hamburgers fresh off of a hot grill are always a favorite to be enjoyed at Kodiak Baptist Mission. Around 60 hamburgers are grilled each Thursday evening for dinner. The essence of hamburger and grease scented smoke fill the campus beckoning that dinner is ready. Hamburgers, delicious hamburgers, waiting to be fixed with pickles, tomatoes, relish, cheese, and a favorite condiment. Hamburgers. But, it’s not the hamburgers that make Thursday special, hamburgers are just food. Every Thursday the Gospel is given before dinner. Families of the children are invited to have dinner with us and hear about the Love of Jesus. John 6:35 tells us: “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Every Thursday families hear what Jesus is all about. He is the Bread of Life that Kodiak Baptist Mission wants our children and families to be consuming, not just hamburgers. He alone offers the Bread of Life that we need. It is not the bread and hamburgers that feed our soul, it is Jesus, the Bread of Life. Matthew 4:4 tells us:” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Hamburgers may be delicious and filling, and we never want anyone to leave hungry, but it is Jesus we want the children to fill up on. We want Jesus to be the Bread of Life that fills their souls. As only He can. We want them to leave full of Jesus! Jesus Bread of Life Fill up on Jesus. Eddy and Fran Campbell
