Sunrise, Sunset
Psalm 113:3
Kodiak doesn’t always see the sunrise and sunset in a fashion that paints the sky with majestic color.
On average, according to United States climate data, Kodiak has 205 days per year of cloudy skies, with most of those days providing some sort of precipitation. In comparison, the lower 48 has on average 205 days of sunshine!
On those particular days that Kodiak is graced with clear days the colors of the sky are breathtaking.
Magnificent colors in the morning and evening sky glow from the top of emerald green, snow capped mountains, reaching down to the vast ocean and gracefully dance on the rolling waves. The colors of the sky are mesmerizing, changing from bright pink to brilliant orange. It is as if God is painting on his canvas and giving us front row seats to watch incredible colors emerge all around.
The colors of the sky are awe- inspiring and a reminder of His love . Psalm 19:1 tells us: “ The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. “(ESV)
His handiwork of the sky can be awe-inspiring and breathtaking , but the fact that God thinks we are his handiwork is why we praise.
Ephesians 2:10
“ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)
Psalm 113:3 tells us “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” (NIV)
We praise God from sunrise to sunset daily at Kodiak Baptist Mission for his love. We praise Him for his handiwork , in the sky , and in every little child that we have the privilege to share the love that God so freely gives. We praise Him for Jesus.
Watch the sunrise.
Watch the sunset.
Praise Jesus.
