Peace
Isaiah 9:6-7
Standing outside in the quiet of the evening while millions of snowflakes danced all around brought a sense of peace and quietness on one particular day. The snowflakes whirled in a white, noiseless flurry. Each one falling quietly to the ground, accumulating to cover the ground in a beautiful white blanket. It was in a sense- magical.
Magical may not be the best word to describe this moment, peace would be a better description. The quiet of the evening, falling snowflakes, and just being there brought peace in a busy day. A day of needed work, things to do, and the noise of the world erased by the quietness of the falling snowflakes. Peace. Millions of snowflakes falling, creating a moment of peace.
In this season of Advent, we celebrate the word peace.
Peace brought to a lowly manger in a noisy, bustling town of Bethlehem.
Isaiah 9:6-7 tells us:”For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”
Just as those snowflakes whirling all around brought peace on a busy day, Jesus brings true peace in a busy world.
The snowflakes will eventually melt away, but the peace that Jesus brings has no end.
In this season of Advent look for His Peace. It will cover you in complete peace as you stand in the awe of The One Who is Peace.
The birth of a baby brought peace to a hurting, noisy world.
Cover yourself in His peace.
Jesus.
Kodiak Baptist Mission hopes you have the True Peace that Jesus offers. We rely on His Peace daily.
